Coronation Street films return for Daisy Midgeley's mum

What's bringing her back to the Cobbles?

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street looks to be filming a return for Daisy Midgeley's mum Christina Boyd, played by Amy Robbins.

The Sun reports that the actress was seen leaving the soap's set in the week, and will be back for just one episode, but the door is open for her to pop back for brief appearances every now and then.

Christina was last seen at Daisy's hen do, when Daisy informed her mum that she wouldn't be welcome at the wedding.

Since then, Daisy has been involved in a lot of stories with Ryan Connor. Following the acid attack (which was meant for her), Daisy and Ryan shared a secret kiss and both of them caught feelings for each other, although they've been keeping their distance from each other since Daisy is with Daniel Osbourne.

Ryan's current storyline sees him set up an x-rated account on an Only Fans-style platform for money and validation (he's also taking steroids), something that Daisy will discover.

Speaking about whether the two would actually make a good couple, Daisy actress Charlotte Jordan exclusively told Digital Spy that: "I just don't know how healthy [Daisy and Ryan's] relationship is – given their history, and given the fact that she had no romantic intentions towards him before the acid attack.

"Now because she feels responsible for him and it's a bit of trauma bonding, I don't know how much longevity that's really got. I hope fans can forgive her for what she does!

"Daisy is getting very confused about her feelings. She wasn't looking for romantic feelings and she didn't intend for it to happen. She's got more than platonic feelings for him, but it doesn't change her feelings for Daniel. She's just very confused."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
